After you run?
Question:

if your just doing an average run or exercise routine water is better....unless,.. you are running super long marathons then gatorade is better cuz it has the sodium, potassium and chloride which is essential for ur heart to function..i do a combo of walking and running about 6miles 4times a week and water does me good.
water...those other drinks are just a bunch of artificial crap. as well as too much salt and usually too much sugar.
If you're going to drink water while you're exercising, then drinking more water afterwards is fine. If you're gonna exercise for two hours or longer without drinking, you should probably choose a sports drink, though.
Water. Gatorade is really only for intense work outs. It's mostly crap and flavoring.
The all natural h2o is always best XD
after 20 years in the army we are ordered to "drink water".
Water is better as long as you are eating too. You only need gatorade if for some reason your body isn't holding water very well. If that's the case, you should probably ask a doctor.
water, for sure.. Gatorade is fine sometimes.. but rarely.. its better to drink water while running and after.. Same with all sports
If you're running for a long time, your body needs the sodium in a sports drink...all that sweat coming out is draining your body of water and sodium. While training for a marathon, I could actually feel the boost that a few sips of Gatorade would give me after about 12-15 miles - water never provided that.
But some people's stomachs don't take well to sports drinks, especially during excersise. If you're only doing shorter runs of 3-7 miles, water would be fine.
This is all just from personal experience, I'm not any kind of athletic trainer or anything.
