Whats the best sneaker to wear when you have Plantar Fasciitis ?
Question:
Answers:
Look for sneakers that have what is called "motion control". New balance, saucony, brooks makes these sneakers. Some I know off hand are new balance M1122 and 814. Go on www.zappos.com or amazon.com and type in "motion control" and you should get a good selection of sneakers.
Any good walking shoe or cross trainer will do. You just need to wear a shoe with lots of arch support. No flip flops or converse sneakers. No skater shoes.
New Balance, Saucony, Asics, whatever fits the best.

Several years ago, I had a bout with plantar fascitis and it is no picnic. My doctor recommended that I get and use arch supports to use in my shoes, as well as the GOOD shoes with GOOD arch supports that have been already mentioned. They aren't sneakers, but if your budget is able to support them, I can recommend a brand of shoes called Danskos, as well. My feet always gave me problems when I was pounding the hallways at work, then I read about Danskos on a nursing website. I bought a pair and the first time I wore them to work, I was able to complete a 12 hour shift with NO pain. They are pricey tho (and my kids say mine are ugly, but since they help me so much I don't care lol). Also, some of the people that I work with swear by the Crocs clogs (I know, also not sneakers). They say not to buy the knockoff ones that you can get at Walmart, they are not the same. Hope this helps.
