I need help...(needles are scary)...FAST!?

First of all you need to calm down. Don't looks at the needle, take someone in the room with you..like a friend or something. Don't be afraid it will only hurt for a few seconds.
Well the tetnus is the one that gives you the little stratch right?
Its really nothing to worry about, seriously. I remember mine (was only a few years ago) and all i did was closed me eyes and thought of random things. The only real thing you'll notice is the scratch, and really thats more of a surprise than pain.

And if its not the needle im thinking off, just close your eyes and concentrate on your bf's face or your mum or whoever. "the illusion of elsewhere", be somewhere else in your head :)
Let the doctor know before u come in that you're very nervous. Ask if u can bring an Ipod or something in with you. Other than that, all I can say is close your eyes, take deep breaths & focus on your breathing.
It won't be as bad as u think, promise!
Dont look at the needle, thats how i do it, and take some motrin or something before.
Shots are nothing, just count to ten and it will be over very quickly. bring a stuffed animal or stress ball to hold on to. Also you can bring your ipod to listen to. At least you don't have to get a blood test, now those HURT...at least to me if ya get them every 6months.
O.k lets just calm down and take a few deep breathes. There is no need to be worried and although needles can be scary they don't need to be. I am not a fan of needles but as long as I dont look I an usually alright. Another thing I do is take slow deep breathes and dont look at anything the nurse is doing. If If I see the needle I am strait out the door. The nurse and my doctor's clinic know of my small problem and she always keeps the needle out of my sight but last year my docotr gave me a tetnus shot and he prepared the small the decive right in front of me and when he saw my tear filled eyes said "You're not scared of a little needle are you?" and I said "No, I just don't like looking" he then apologized and did it really quickly and it was just a little sting.
It really doesnt hurt, you will surprised at what little you feel and you will wonder why you got yourself so worked up.
