Insect bites?

Question:
Got an ?insect bite, lower part of the leg near ankle is now red and blistered. The redness is the size of a ping pong ball and blister is approx 20p size, it has burst slightly because clear tissue fluid as has been seeping. I have put a dressing on it.

Answers:
I have one myself having just returned from my holidays.

Unfortunately its infected. All you can do is make sure that it doesn't fill up again, if it does, burst it gently with a clean needle.

When it has stopped filling up, leave dressing off and let the air get to it so it can dry out and start its healing process.

If it doesn't look as if its getting any better, go to the doctors for anti-biotics.
Go by a urgent care facility.Doesn't sound to good....
Might be a bad-guy spider bite, and then again it might be a relatively harmless chigger bite [depending on where you live as far as countryside rambles are concerned]. Clean the mess with alcohol [disinfect by pouring alcohol rather than rubbing it in] and use a neosporin ointment on the dressing before applying it. If the redness remains, go see a doctor. I've had chigger bites that exactly resemble what you have described--but it's better to be sure & safe than get our amateur's advice. Worth every p to get a medic's view.
