Extremely severe leg pain. been having it for a few years. it hurts so badly, please help me?
Question:
I have been having severe leg pain attacks since I was about 15 years old. The past couple of years it seems to have gotten more severe. Now days, I have the pain almost every night.
It occurs in the evening and the pain is in my thighs.
It's so excruciating I even cried today.
pain killers, ice, and heat do not help anymore.
There has to be something else really wrong.
I have not injured myself at all and I have no health problems. I am not over weight or underweight.
please, can anyone help me?
Answers:
I've had this same problem for years but, mine is due to serious spinal problems. You could have the same.
Sometimes the pain is coming from another part of the body. In this case I would guess your spine IE: a slipped disc, a bulging disc, a crushed disc or some other disc problem but, your going to have to see your doctor first.
Your primary may take the initiative and have CAT's or an MRI done, this will help tell the story, then he can refer you to the proper specialist like an orthopedic surgeon.
I was on requip for years and I think that just covered the pain, I always wondered what it was from and told the doctor "no more pills" lets get at the problem. Requip did help. there's another new drug out, not in the area yet, that's made for leg pains. Maybe your doctor can get these for you for temporary relief.
Go to an orthopedic surgeon, or orthopedic medical practice in your area ASAP. They need to take an x-ray, you may have a very serious injury that could possibly call for surgery within days. A similar pain kept nagging at me around your age, when I went to the ortho. they determined through x-rays that I had an Aneurysmal Bone Cyst also known as a Bone Tumor. I had surgery within 2 days, and it turned out to be benign. But it takes the place of your bone, leaving your bone highly vulnerable to a fracture. It even came back 4 yrs. later, it is just a freak thing not caused by any particular reason. GO TO A DR. ASAP & GET XRAYS.
it could be many things. and you certainly will not get a diagnosis here... the best thing for you to do is visit your doctor and have some testing done to see what's causing the pain.. wish I could be of more help. good luck
If you are taking Seroquil, or the generic equivalent, call your doctor IMMEDIATELY, as leg pain is a side effect which can be LIFE THREATENING>if not, try drinking more milk, and putting a bar of soap under your sheet on your bed. Don't ask me why, but it works, usually. If not, call your doctor and do not let up until you get an answer.
Best wishes.
