Weird "pop" in my knee yesterday...?

Question:
Yesterday I was at work kneeling on the floor going through a box, and when I stood up and took a step, the knee that was bearing my weight popped really strangely and hurt a little bit, but wasn't excruciating. It felt like something was moving inside. It was a feeling unlike any I've experienced before, and what I imagine doing something really bad to your knee might feel like. Today it's just kind of aching, but it's not unbearable or anything. I do know people though that have blown off a knee injury only to find out later that something was torn and they needed surgery.

At what point do you think I should see a doctor? If I've really injured it will it get worse if I wait too long to get treatment? Am I making too big a deal out of this?

Answers:

4 months ago i was playing soccer and fell and heard my knee pop...i tore my acl and both miniscus... when it happened i didnt think it was a big deal but i ended up having to have surgery
you dont want to do any more damage to it
I don't think it's a big deal. It happens to me all the time. But if you notice it gets worse, do see a doctor. For now I just recommend you don't burden it too much, but you can still go about your daily business as any other day.

:)
your making to big of a deal with it
theres nothing wrong with you and no offense but if you know everything then why cant you answer this question on your own? jw...
