As an echo tech, what is the procedure for an EKG and the propose or objective of such procedure?

I'm an ultrasound tech, how ever I got offered an Echo position at this hospital and I got hired. So I need as much insight as I can get for this position. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Performing echocardiograms is like performing an ultrasound but for the heart. One of the things it does is measure the size of the heart.
