Wrist Hurts!!?

Question:
I hurt my wrist drpping in at the skatepark.I iced it right away. It isnt swollen. Could it be broken? HELP!!

Answers:
Despite the popular myth that you can't move a broken bone, you can. It's just usually too painful to move. The fact that it's not swollen is a pretty good indicator that it's not broken. You did the right thing in icing it right away. It sounds like a bad muscle sprain. No more skate park for a while my friend. You wrist will need a little rest. Take care.
I have the same problem, the doctor told me it was tendinitis and it would go away, but it didnt, i guess you need to get it x-rayed
You may have a hairline fracture or torn tendons. Why not just go to the doctor for an x-ray?
It is very easy to hurt your wrist skateboarding. If you can make a fist or bend all your fingers, it's probably just a sprain. If yuo can't than it may be a hairline fracture on one of the small wrists/ hand bones. It is swollen so I doubt it's broken. If it looks a little deformed than it's probably a fracture. The only way to be sure is to ice it on and off every 20 minutes for the first 48 hours. Try to limit movement and wrap it in an ace bandage, splint, or a brace. If it really hurts after 48 hours, I would see a doctor and get x-rays if necessary. Feel better.
If you can move it than it's not broken. If it's just slight pain I would take an Advil and wait a few days. If it's still painful then see a doctor.
