This is what is known as a "slipped disc" How far it has slipped has to be determined first, before any more damage is done. My advice from experience is to see a specialist first and find out how much damage has been done. I am speaking from experience, I had L-5 slip out of place so far I had to have a spinal fusion done, this was in 1956 and the procedures have greatly improved since then. I know it can be very pain full and when it gets to where you can't stand, sit and hurts to lay down, you are in trouble. Believe me when I say the back is nothing to play around with, every thing you do involves the back. Wish you the best.
