What does a cracked rib feel like?

Any Doctors in the house? Do you reckon it's just bruised?
Answers:
I reckon you must have just bruised it. If you'd have cracked a rib, then you would have difficulty breathing and you'd be in a LOT of pain. If you are worried, see your GP or go to A&E.

Bruised or cracked, the treatment is the same.
Avoid strenuous activity, laughing, sneezing, if possible. Take pain killers if necessary.
I am not a dr. but I had broken ribs and you cant breath without it feeling like a knife gooing through your body HURTS BAD. and you cant move from side to side if it is broken so even a bruse would hurt I am sure .do not drink enough to do that it is not worth it huh?may be best to get it checked out. you may chip something depending on the size of your body.
Cracked rib you would be having trouble breathing it would hurt every time you took a breath. Bruised ribs are very painful and will take weeks to heal up, well at least mine did.
very sore and painful a good rest and no stress on the area you will feel better to leave the heavy stuff alone taking pain killing tablets will help the pain,you are bound to feel uncomfortable for about 4 weeks or so but it is uncomfortable when you sneeze or laugh.
I had eight dislocated ribs after a car accident. I couldn't take a full breath, couldn't bend or turn, and yes the pain was constant. Give it a couple days, you probably just bruised it. If it gets worse, see a doc. Otherwise, just take it easy and put some ice on it. No big worry unless it's something bad like a displaced fracture.
Very pain full, If you think you have one pop along to your Local hospital A&E, paticularly if it hurts like hell when you breath in deeply .
You're short of breath and painful! I've had mine broken two different times!
