What can be done for a broken toe?

Question:

Answers:
sadly, not terribly much
-tape 2 or 3 toes together (gently) with athletic tape or wrap the foot with a sports bandage
-you will probably need to favor the foot as you walk around
-try not to stay on your feet for too long throughout the day (for a couple of weeks)
-raise your foot when you can to cut down on the natural swelling that occurs during the day
-ibuprofen is an anti-inflamatory, but don't over-do it
-if it is causing you an unusual amount of pain for several days to a week, see your Doctor for more options
Nothing is what the emergency room told me when I broke my pinkie toe years ago. There is no way to splint it. Take some Ibuprofen (Advil) for the pain. Ibuprofen products also reduce swelling which will help. Elevate your foot and apply ice. After about a week my toe was much better.

Good Luck...I feel your pain.
Pretty much nothing. Dont waste your time going to the doctor, they'll tape it to the toe next to it and send you on your way.

Try not to aggravate it and tape it to another toe in a comfortable position.
Save your time and money. Tape the broken toe next to another toe. Try to limit use. IF it really hurts, try a pain relief pill. If that does'nt work, use crutches sold at your local pharmacy.
