Did I perhaps cause permenant damage while cleaning my ears?

Question:
I rarely clean my ears with q-tips. But i did a few days ago and it was fine till this morning now it really hurts and feels like there is water in it and I can't hear. What should I do?

Answers:
A lot of times, what you end up doing when cleaning your ear with a q-tip is to push the wax further into the ear further blocking the ear canal. Hopefully it's just the case that wax has completely blocked the ear canal, otherwise, it might be damage to your eardrum, which is not good. Given the pain, it could also be infection with fluid buildup. You should definitely see a doctor since it is affecting your hearing.
Go to the hospital!

See your doctor to see if there is physical damage to it or if you just tapped your eardrum too hard, damaged some skin around the ear, or just impacted some wax.
no permanent damage, it just sounds like you have an inner ear infection or just fluid behind the ear drum. it happens. you can either go to a doc and see if it's an infection or there are over the counter ear drops that can help dry it up if it isn't an infection. also some ppl put a couple of drops of alcohol (isopropyl) in their ears after swimming to dry up fluid.
my dr.tells me NOT to use q-tips for my ears..I constantly have ear infection..that's probably what you have,,I think the cotton on the q-tip does it...leaves microfibers in there.
I would just wait and see if it gets worse go to dr..unless you put the q-tip in toooo far and injuried eardrum
