How long does a douche last ? - Serious Answers Please.?
Question:
This is a serious question for intelligent, educated people who have good intentions and would like to help. I researched the issue of douching and was disgusted of all the fowl and negative information posted on douching. Especially people calling other people "douche bags".
I understand the risks that come with doucing.
I DO NOT douche often.
I have an important reason for douching (one I will keep private)
I just would like to know:
" How long after a woman douches, does it last ?"
Meaning..after I douche, does the effect "cleanliness" last about a day or so...or just a few hours?
Is there anyone that would be able to give me a serious, sincere helpful opinion..
PLEASE no derrogatory, disgusting or crude answers. Thanks
Thanks everyone for your help.
Answers:
Cleanliness and douching don't really go together. You are not more clean after douching than before.
Douching can wash away normal beneficial bacteria that live within the vagina, predisposing you to vaginal infections. Douching can also force bacteria higher, into the uterus and tubes, increasing the chance of your developing a serious infection that could damage the tubes and impair fertility.
Douching is not necessary. At the most, a woman should only douche once a month, unless instructed otherwise by her doctor for some specific reason.
This really depends on the condition you are using it for, and I'm assuming you're doing this because of a doctors recommendation - because they don't typically recommend douching. You need to talk to your doctor, and s/he can advise you on how often.
I know this isn't the answer you are looking for, but my wife had issues with this and found it to be far more harmful than helpful. Read this and then decide for yourself.
"Is Douching Healthy?
Simply stated, the answer is "No."
According to a study published by the American Journal of Public Health, douching may reduce a woman's chance of becoming pregnant during a particular month by approximately thirty percent.
Regular vaginal douching changes the delicate chemical balance of the vagina and can make a woman more susceptible to infections. Douching can introduce new bacteria into the vagina which can spread up through the cervix, uterus, and fallopian tubes. Researchers have found that women who douche regularly experience more vaginal irritations and infections such as bacterial vaginosis, and an increased number of sexually transmitted diseases.
Furthermore, regular users of vaginal douches face a 73% greater risk of developing pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) -- a chronic condition that can lead to infertility, or even death, if left untreated. Bacterial vaginosis and PID can have serious adverse affects on pregnancy including infections in the baby, labor problems, and preterm delivery.
For these reasons, douching is no longer recommended as a safe or healthy way to routinely clean the vagina. The only safe and healthy way to clean the vagina is to let the vagina clean itself. The delicate chemical balance of the vagina is very sensitive and easily disrupted by routine vaginal douching."
it sounds to me like you are using douche to cover up an underlying problem, if this is the case you should try to solve the primary problem. i recently was told that i have an issue that is not curable, but generally after i douche i am fresh and clean for about 2-3 days, although i never really have a serious dirty issue. i usually douche after my period, it just make me feel better. i have had no problems with douching, except for my significant other telling me that i smell like air freshener. lol! some women get yeast infections from douching. the body has it's own natural way of cleaning itself, but in my case the douche makes me feel better about myself. i hope i helped you and if you need to discuss it more just read my info and get in touch with me personally.
