Can a complete tibia and fibula fracture heal completley after surgery?

I broke my leg and required surgery with a metal rod can people make full recoveries after that is it known of athletes who came back from this type of injuries

Sure you heal completely. Some doctors will tell you that the bone part that broke will heal to be stronger that the orginal bone.
