For those of you who have carpal tunnel?
Question:
My carpal tunnel is acting up again and I was told before that it was 50/50 for surgery and I went to a chiropractor and have had no problems for a few years. Is this something that I will always have trouble with no matter or what or can it be cured.
Answers:
My answer is the chiropractor! My best friend had surgery several years ago, butstill has problems..As long as you do any repetitive motion, stay on a computer, all day,or even do a lot of text messaging, you will have a problem My brother is a prison guard, and turning keys in locks all day caused his carpul tunnel.
My massage therapist gave me and exercise she does..palms togetherl, slight pressure, rotate hands toward youl, then away from you. It helps provide stress relief on the wrists during a hard day at the computer.
I don't have it but I know several people who do. One friend goes for acupuncture and she says it helps a great deal.
i've known people who have had the surgery and had very good results. my mom had the surgery and her carpal tunnel still acts up from time to time. My carpal tullel acts up quite a bit sometimes (more in my right hand)..but i'm scared of having the surgery and still having the problem, so as bad as it may sound..i'll just hold out 'till my hands are useless :-(
Even if you do have surgery it will probably still be a bother. Surgery isn't always a quick fix. I had a plate put in my neck as well as my sister and we both suffer constantly. They wanted to put a plate in my lwr back and no way! If it's going to hurt then let it hurt. I will tolerate the pain before I would do such a serious surgery. I now do the injections and epiderals and have been doing them for the past 5 yrs. I get them in both neck and back. Why have surgery when I will just have to get injections afterwards anyways?
No surgery.
when i overdo it at something the pain comes back
i take ibproffen and wear a brace also ice helps the swelling.
a couple of days and i'm good as new.
Hi Ive had surgery a few months ago for my carpal tunnel also my wrist on same hand I'm in more pain now than I ever was Ive had surgery 3 times on my wrist and it looks like I may have to have anther but to be totally honest I'm opting out for more surgery it never worked the first time for me but it may be different for you best of look
I have had 4 carpal tunnel surgeries, 2 on each hand the first 2 in 1990 the second in 1999.
I still have carpal Tunnel syndrome.
I did get relief though from surgery on my elbow a medial epicondylectomy, because of cubital tunnel syndrome. But I screwed it up by tearing the muscle loose. Now it can't be fixed.
So I guess I'd say only as a last resort. And be sure to get a good doctor.
Good luck
