Answers:
Try a decongestant (like Sudafed). If, that doesn't work, try ear drops like Debrox for wax removal. And, if all else fails, call your doctor, you may have something inner ear that may require a prescription.
Buy ear wax removal. Or use a bobby pin. Be careful.
I used a Q-tip but then my ear was clogged up for 4 weeks.
I know this will sound weird, but i am now a believer in this. My daughter in law taught me this. Go to a health food store and buy ear cones. They are long cone shaped things that you put into your ear and you light the other end with fire. It somehow draws all kinds of junk out of your ear...and will unplug them too. When the fire gets near your ear you wrap a wet paper towel around the burning end to put it out. I know this sounds way out there...but it works!
It could be ear wax, or it could be congestion from allergies, or it could be an ear infection, or it could be a cyst in your ear. If it's an infection, you'll need to see a doctor and get antibiotics. If it's a cyst, it can be removed with surgery, although a cyst is less likely than other causes. Do you swim a lot? If it's an infection the likely cause is water in the ear. I'd say the most probable cause of your problem is an ear infection, and you'll need to get antibiotics from a doctor, because ear infections don't go away without antibiotic treatment. good luck.
you might need a referral to an Ear Nose and Throat specialist...I absolutely DO NOT recommend sticking ANYTHING into your ear like Keith suggested, unless of course you want to risk poking a hole into your eardrum. Your problem could be simple or complex, it's very hard to determine. Have you gone swimming lately? Could be water stuck in there. You may have a wax build up deep in your inner ear, (which the ENT can remove with a suction machine or a special tool) . You m ay have allergies, or an ear infection...having a plugged up ear could be a whole range of things so seeing your doctor is the best bet...see the doc, and he/she can write out the referral if deemed necessary. Good luck
I've bought special "antibiotic" ear drops at the drug store...you can ask your pharmacist to help you find them [like which isle they're in] - you don't need a prescription for them. It proved helpful to me when I had an ear infection. Later, I found a tip in The ''Doctors' Book of Home Remedies'', it said to pour a small amount of hydrogen peroxide on a spoon, then tilt your head and pour it into the affected ear...so I tried it, and at first, as it goes into your ear it tickles, then you feel a neat crackling sensation [doesn't hurt at all]...then I tilt my head in the opposite direction to allow the hydrogen peroxide to pour back out of my ear and into the sink. Then my ear feels refreshed. Hydrogen peroxide is an antiseptic. [Don't use rubbing alcohol].
Look out not to sleep in a drought or under an AC, as your ears are being cold. At night, Put a light cotton hat which closes your ears, and sleep with it, until you recover. Keeping warm helps a lot.
In day time look out not to sit in front or under an AC.
Use some decongestant drops in your NOSE, and a thorough mouthwashing of the throat before sleep.
ear candeling is the quickest cheapest way, some dayspas do them or u can go to the health food store and get them. It works and much cheaper than drugs and an office visit.

the ear irrigation they do at the doctors office is lame, TRY THE EAR CANDLES
if its infected and not just was build up try this...cut up onion -put in sock..and microwave it-them lay head down on pillow on sock....it actually drains fluid and eases pain-it is the only old time remedy of my grandmas that actually works!it has been medically proven there is something in the onion that is emitted when heated
Go to a salon or your local herb shop and buy/have your ears candled. You can have a salon do it or you can do it yourself. This should help...
