Although there are many things that this could be you could have a stress fracture (Only able to diagnose by x-ray) of the Tibia and I would not rule out a blood clot. Nurses get stress fractures quite often just from being on your feet too much.
You could have a nerve that is acting up and sometimes these seem to happen at the same time everyday. Another possibility is Restless leg syndrome. My mother has this and she has symptoms similar to what you are describing.
I would say if you have this longer than a week go see your physician.
If heat is not working try a cold pack and elevate you leg. If Advil is not working try Tylenol.
does your leg look inflamed (do not massage your leg if it looks inflamed - possibility of a clot)? A pulled muscle? or must be a ligament problem? Did you twist your back or fell on your back/butt recently (could be a nerve problem)?..If I were you, I would go to a doctor.
Possibly could be a case of piriformis syndrome or sciatica from sitting for so long each day. You also walked a good bit, which could lead to soreness or pain. This muscle problem could affect the area down the back of the leg (including the calf). Look up these terms on Web MD or another site to check for similarities and treatment ideas.
sounds like you have a pinched nerve in your back or in your leg i had one, it lasted for 3 months i could hardly do anything. i had a hard time to walk. the only thing that would help with the pain was Tyenol #3.
You have some good answers here. I'm wondering what kind of shoes you wear when walking? Could be you are irritating nerves by wearing heels or poorly fitting shoes. Another possiblity would be shin splints, common in young folk. Also there is a bundle of nerves that run through the back of the knee joint that if you fold your legs tightly or sit on a really hard surface you might be compressing the nerves. See the attached references to see if anything fits. If this continues, be sure to see a doctor.
