I have tried reading before bed, doing a crossword etc.
it helped. Also, this worked well for me, try imagining sleeping next to someone you really like/love.
I like to read before bed or listen to low-volume music while I'm sleeping.
You may suffer from a mild case of depression which causes isomnia. Try taking some Nyquill before bad time, even when you are not sick or drink a glass of red wine. Usually those symptoms last only a few days but if you have trouble sleeping for more than a week, you may want to consult a doctor.

I sometimes have trouble sleeping and my doctor prescribed sleeping pills, but they just made me feel awful the next day. The things that work for me are lavender oil (I put some on my pillow), a noise machine, an eye mask to block out light, and the biggest thing is working out every morning. When I work out I rarely have trouble getting to sleep.
Have the habit of wake up early morning
Before u go to bed do any of the following till u get sleep
1. hearing melodious songs
2. read books
3. do some exercises
4. do yoga
5. take a cup of hot milk
6. play
