Black outs?

Question:
Sometimes when I stand up really fast or move at fast speeds I get really dizzy or I black out for a few seconds. What causes this?

Answers:
What most likely happened was when you stood up, your body didn't compensate quick enough to keep blood flow going to your brain. This is normal and even common in some people who take some certain medications or are dehydrated. You can prevent this from happening in the future by slowing your stance, even ever so slight, to allow your body to compensate. The human body...such a fine tuned instrument, (in terms I hope you'll understand) will constrict some vessels, and slightly raise the heart rate to keep the blood going to where it's needed. In fact the job of the cardiovascular system is to keep the heart and brain perfused with blood (oxygen).
I think it is caused by the fluid in the inner ear that helps keep your equilibrium and balance. When you stand up fast the fluid is moved rapidly and it takes a few seconds for it to calm down enough for your body to feel normal.
What's happening is what sounds to me like vaso vagal syncope. Basically, your blood pressure gets low, then as you rise it drops even lower causing you to faint. It's actually quite common. Get yourself checked out by a doctor though, there could be an underlying illness such as anemia causing these spells.
Getting dizzy or black outs are symptoms of blood pressure. It means you have a very low blood pressure. When you stand up very fast or move at fast speed, the blood circulation is suddenly speed up and travels to your legs. When the brain lacks blood circulation, then you will feel dizzy. Try to relax or get up slowly and don't move at a very fast pace. Go to your doctor to check your BP. Ask him about supplements to be added to your food to increase blood amount. Hope it helps.
