Donating blood & Flying out next day...?

Question:
I am donating blood on Thursday for a major blood drive, I've donated blood before so 'm ok with it. The next day I am taking off on vacation in an 11 hour flight.
Should I worry about lowering my immune system, or any risks to my health over this?

Any professional opinions would be great, thank you!

Answers:
Anyone who is flying an eleven hour flight should be thinking about having an antibiotic after the flight...says my doctor. The air system in planes is so old, so behind the times, that totally dangerous things are in the air. I'm not a fanatic. I just know that my doctor does this for me when I fly around.
i would worry!
if plane rides make you easily drowsy...then taking a big amount of blodd from your body then going on a long plane ride can have many risks
you could pass out or even just black out
you could get sick..such as flu but not
there are many people on air planes and sickness pass fastly, when you are drowsy it is harder for your body to fight things that usually would be no problem.
i suggest not giving your blood
hi.The amount of blood given regenerates within 24 hours.Unless there is a "flu" bug aboard, nothing to worry about.Have a nice day.
yes only one pint in 4 to 6 weeks think. that is all that is needed from one person and drink liquids and you will be fine.
Just take your vitamins before and after. drink lots of water. eat lots of green veges. you should be just fine.
Why the H--L would you donate blood if you're gonna be on a flight right away. Get REAL,,People like you will vote for HILLIARY
I'd have a couple of questions for you, like, did you faint or feel weak when you gave blood or afterward? Did you black out? Were you woozy or walking strangely afterward? If not then that one time is ok for you. The nurses will tell you to drink juice or pepsi or have some candy if you feel faint. I'd also suggest that you take a vitamin/mineral pill like one-a-day or centrum to rebuild, and eat like normal (a decent meal, but don't go overboard). I never heard about giving blood lowering an immune system or there being health "risks".

The nurses say not to lift your arms, carry heavy weight (like doing the laundry), or too much activity "right after" giving blood (or you will faint), but since you've gone thru giving blood fine and it's four days later, you sound fine to me.
