to get that body moving and it feels soooo good
Maybe 'cuz you've been lying there all night not moving, and it's a way to stretch our muscles and get them moving again.
I don't know, good question though.
If I stretch my legs out in bed, I get cramp in my calves.
I think it's a personal preference. You probably stretch as soon as you wake up because it makes you feel good, and it probably wakes you up. My theory, (assuming you stretch your arms out), is that when you stretch your arms out, your lungs expand taking in a vast quantity of oxygen, making you feel very refreshed and awake.
Personally, I don't stretch right after I wake up, and just before I get out of bed.
because your muscles havent moved in a while so they need to stretch out.
cause all night you don't move, so your body gets all cramped up. you stretch so its easier to move. next time you wake up, don't stretch, and you'll see that its hard to move.
Because at night we shrink when we sleep so we have to stretch to iron all the kinks out, otherwise we'd fall over when we stand up.
Stretching is the body's natural mechanism for lubricating the joints, prior to moving - just like a cat!
