Can chronic pain cause weight loss? And, if so, what can I do about it?

I am in a LOT of pain due to a back/ right hip problem. I have lost around # 20 pds seens it's started. I eat all the time- even when I am not hungry. But, I just lost another 3 pds.

My chronic pain caused me to loose and gain weight left and right. The medications, and things often cause that.
I never heard of such a thing. Have you gone to the doctors?

Well thats sounds good to me. But, anything is possible. Every ones body reacts differently. I too have been in chronic pain for over 10 years. Many operations and alot of meds. Many of the meds for chronic pain can have negative results such as weight gain. Thats what I do.The steroids are the culprit.Do you take meds, or injections for pain. You might look into combinations of meds possibly causing this.Are you where the weight loss is dangerously low and your intake of calories are not healthy? I would check with your doctor. Good luck
yeah but for me its because when I have pain I dont have an appetite
If you are on Topamax that can make you lose weight. I an it for chronic pain of my back and legs. Buring of legs. It is a anti Serrure med.
