If you get stung by a Man-0-War (jellyfish) and its tentacles are still in you, is that bad?
Question:
Answers:
I heard peeing on the affected area helps.
"The sting from the tentacles is potentially dangerous to humans; these stings have been responsible for several deaths, but usually only cause excruciating pain."
This isn't the only time I've heard of the Man o' War. I would try and remove the tentacles. If you can't, or it's too painful, go and see a doctor. I would go to the doc either way. Man o' War's aren't exactly jellyfish, so they have a different treatment. Put ice on where you were stung. DON'T put ANY heat on the wound. Heat will make the wound worse. Ice will slow down any venom in your system to help your immune system fight it off, if it can.
To get rid of the tentacles, use tweezers, and don't use a towel, or anything like that. If you don't have tweezers, or something of the like, then use your fingertips.
"Any breathing difficulty or altered level of consciousness is a medical emergency. Call 911 immediately."
Good luck, and I hope that it's not too serious.
