Keep this in mind:
The doctor works for you. If they're not doing their job, FIRE THEM!
Depending on what kind of headache it is, you may need to see either
1.an eye doctor
2. a neurologist or
3.an orthopedic surgeon.
(1.eye pain, 2.migraine/side of head, 3.neck and headache.)
Get another doctor, seriously.
And don't listen to anyone who might accuse you of "doctor shopping". That's just a load of bull.
If your doctor doesn't believe that you're hurting, tell them where they can shove it.
If they don't know what to do, demand to be reffered to a specialist.
You have got to take control of your medical care, because unfortunately, not all doctors know what they're talking about!
Do some research about chronic migraines and the different types of treatment.
You will never find relief if you don't know everything you can learn about it and the treatments.
Good luck, and I'll be praying for you!

Been there done that! I switched the food brands I was eating. Seriously, I used to get migraine headaches 3, 4, 5 times a week. I would be incapable of anything except medicating it and sleeping in a pitch black, silent room. Not anymore! I recommend checking out www.feingold.org. It lists all the foods that do not contain artificial flavors/colors or preservatives. Mostly just a matter of switching brands. Just take a look and consider it. It works.

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS TO ME! The headaches are so irritating.
This is what I do (trust me it helps):
-Drinks lots of fluid (Tropicana Juice and water and such)
-Breathe a couple times deeply when it is straining your head (do not go overboard and cause yourself to become lightheaded)
-Take Motrin or Tylenol when it gets horrible
-Take out your hair from a pony tail or any other hairstyle
-Take a shower and wash your hair
-Get a lot of rest. Sometimes my headaches are caused by lack of sleep and I tend to be more irritable in the day which gets me stressed out and have a headache.
P.S. Get an allergy test done. It might be histamine in your body that is causing a lot of pressure to build up in your head because of a foreign body or allergen. I got it done, and found out that I'm allergic to some types of trees, newly cut grass, and ragweed. Allergies still happen in the summer to majority of people so please look into getting an allergy test. It wouldn't hurt.
i would start by keeping a journal every time id get a headache id log what i did ate my stress level..and begin to chart the aches..perhaps a pattern will unfold giving you to figure out why this is happening good-luck and feel better
Have you been to a neurologist? Had an MRI? My neurologist put me on a seizure medication and that helped me a lot. There are many different meds to try. See a neurologist, this could be a sign of something bigger.
I get migraines 3-4 times a week. No meds work any more for me. I fine that yoga and swimming 3-4 times a week helps more that any pill. Acupuncture also helped to a degree.
These are all good suggestions. I double my water intake this seems to help my migraines. Alot of people forget that one of the symptoms of dehydration is a headache and the the water you choke those aspirin down with does as much for the headache as the aspirin.
Good Luck Danni
If you have followed the instructions of over the counter medication, and you have had no relief, you do need a third opinion. Your headache might from stress, a change in the barometer, or you might be getting migraines from an outside stimulant. You have to go to a specialist in order to be diagnosed with a migraine, so ask your doctor to refer you to one. In the meantime, a hot shower on the back of your neck for quite a few minutes might help, as might ice on your feet. I know the ice on the feet sounds weird, but more than once it has helped me at least get a grip on the pain of my headache. You might also get help from a chiropractor - go to a young one. They are more up to date and have other options to offer besides "bone cracking". You have to find out why you are getting those headaches. Insist on getting a referral to a specialist.
First thing is water - the head of neurology at UCDavis explained (when my husband went to him about 10 years ago for migraines) that running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil. Things are going to go seriously wrong.
Because the amount of water we should drink was figured out so long ago a more modern way to base the non sugars (even the substitutes - because sugar increases pain, weight and decreased absorption) drinks is : water = your body weight divided by 2 times ounces daily.
Many times your muscles will be tight starting as far away as your rump, up your back, shoulders, neck and head. Muscles are like ropes with many different strands or fibers in them - the individual fibers can (if they are not relaxing properly) bulk up in the middle and stretch more thinly on the ends giving the description of a "knot".
On your head in your hair stratch lightly - you are likely to find tender spots these are knots - do this occasionaly until they go away. A good massage is well worth it.
My chiropractor (who uses an activator instead of manual manipulation) has spots he can hit to help lighten headaches up.
Natural muscle relaxers because they both contain magnisium (that regulates many things in the body) and potassium (which you can sweat out) are bananas and a swig or two of molasses. The only side effect is the runs if you have too much.
Eating correctly - fruits, vegies and LEAN meats are best.

If you need to help me help you, can you please answer a couple of questions ? I always treat after having understood symptoms. Symptoms always give a clue to what the cause will be & its important to cure the cause. This will eliminate problems totally.
1. Does your headache keep shifting from one part of the head to the other?
2. At what part of the day do you get headaches?
3. Do you get a feeling of nausea soon after or when you get the headache?
4. Do you also suffer from lower backaches?
Do you have problems of constipation?
5. Do you problems of hair fall ?
6. Sorry, but I do not understand gender from the names of people abroad, so I'm asking this question. If you are a lady, can you pl. tell me if you get cramps in your abdomen during your cycle? Also do you suffer from infrequent periods?
7. Do you drink water with food?
8. Do you eat & work at the same time?
If you can answer these questions, I can help you cure yourself.

No doctor in this world can help you. There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation;
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.
Avoid late sleeping if possible;spicy, sour, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, sweet fruits, milk, rice and good sleep will help you.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong.
If it is acute pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.
