Question:
The feeling isn't so much pain, more like a strong urge to stretch the area, which I do. However, the next day it isn't sore there at all, but the muscles above that on either side of my spine (a few inches below my shoulder blades) are very sore. Even sorer than my leg muscles! My 1st thought was to strengthen my abs, but that hasn't improved the back pain... Any thoughts on the source of the pain and/or a solution? I haven't a clue anymore.
Answers:
sounds like your erector spinae muscles more than anything although your quadratus laborum may be aggrevated also. your erectors run along your spine and your QL is at your lower back right above your but. a good stretch for that would be to lie on your back and pull ur knees toward your chest, both at the same time. you may also want to get a massage to help out with that. I am a massage therapist that is y i said that but i know it helps
