Hiya, Ibuprofen is a pain killer and an anti inflammatory (so will get rid of swelling) drug so this will help. Thats if you are not allergic to it. plus you can also take it with Paracetamol for that extra pain killing effect, but read instructions for dose etc. You might find if you knock the pain on the head the sickness will go too. Fingers crossed.
you can try icing it. if you are taking narcotics, you may feel sick from those, so if you can try to eat something before you take them. to reduce the swelling, i would just stick with icing.
you think that is bad? i have had six damn teeth pulled for infection stemming from bad hygine and diabetes. now another couple haveto go on tues.day but on bmonday i meet my new internist who hopefully will do something about my right foot swelling up like a football. can hardlyu goto the batherroom. you shoud feel this pain. the heat and the size of my ankle and foot. so dont feel so bad. i have it bad.
drinking warm water with a pinch of salt usually helps it. boil kettle and let it cool slightly. gurgle around affected area it will sooth pain slightly and if you are taking antibiotics they will make it better, but it will take a couple of days to get better. i had root treatment 2 years ago, i went for emergency op to get it fixed and then 3 days after treatment i was fine by doing the above. its important to take water regularly
same to me. it was called a dry socket, painful to the point of tears. i went back to dentist and he put this medicated packing in there and it stopped hurting so bad within minutes... pain pills. and go back every other day for packing . for a week or so while at home i had an ice pack permanantly attached to my face even when i went to bed. but its the only thing that got me thru. i missed work because i couldnt talk. and was all drugged up. so i just used my vacation time so i didnt miss a paycheck... i had never missed work thats how i had so much time saved. i went in the day it was really painful and my boss sow how miserable i was and said its ok, arranged my time off and covered my shifts... i paid her back next time she got sick , and i ran the store by myself for almost 2 wks..its good to be friends with co-workers. they are all human too.
Use panadol.
it will take awhile to get through that.maybe try ice packs and tylenol.also ask your dentist im not one.
Well, hopefully they put you on Vicodin. I was in no pain when I got my wisdom teeth out, and I'm a baby when it comes to pain. There's really nothing else you can take with the Vicodin because it can really screw up your system and your stomach. You can try ice packs (20 minutes on, 20 off) wrapped in a towel for a while. Otherwise, I'm not sure what to do. It's possible that you have an infection, that's why it's still quite swollen. Talk to your Oral Surgeon - that's what they're there for! I hope you get well soon!
Check with your doc. One of the best prescription pain medicines is the Hydrocodone/Ibuprofen combination pill. I take it for pain (I must take only 1/2 with food because it causes stomach upset for me, but it works wonders along with my spinal cord stimulator)! I know money is important, but focus on getting well. Any company that is honest will "work with you" as much as possible in medical situations that can't be helped. If "worse comes to worse," cheer up: There are better companies to work for, and this circumstance IS NOT YOUR FAULT.
