I am worried about a blood test..?

Question:
i hate needles and and stuff and i have to have one tomorrow to test for a thyroid problem, does it hurt?

Answers:
To say it doesn't hurt would be to lie, but in real life, it is but a pinch. I have blood tests done all the time, and I give blood every chance I can. A trick I use is to bite my lip at the same time the phlebotomist is inserting the needle. This takes my mind off the needle and onto my lip. Oh, and do not bite hard, just a quick little bite to take your mind away for a second.

I hope this helps.
A mosquito bite is more painful. Blood tests are just a little prick, not like a regular shot. They don't go into muscle tissue like a regular shot does so they don't hurt as much. Sometimes if you're lucky you won't even feel them at all.
I hate needles also but when i go to the doctors office i dont look at the needles and i also sing a song in my head to help me relax.
it helps me forget whats happening and you should try it .
You only feel a little pinch and thats it then . :)
No you'll be fine. You'll feel a slight pinch when the nurse inserts the needle into your arm or hand and that'll be it. It'll only take a couple of seconds and you'll be finished.

1.) The needle will go in
2.) A tube will be attached to collect the blood
3.) They'll collect as much blood as they feel they need
4.) You'll be done - gauze or a band-aid and they'll send you on your way

For some tests more than one tube of blood is needed, sometimes when the nurse removes one tube and attaches another it pinches a bit. In your case, one tube should be plenty.

Hope this helps. Good Luck. :-)
No, it doesnt just a small pinch which lasts about 2 seconds. Just stay relaxed, dont look and take slow deep breathes.
