Does it really matter which brand of Vicodin you buy??

Go to *your* pharmacy, fill your prescription, return her 10 pills, and explain to her that you're sorry, but that's what they gave you. All hydrocodone is the same, as long as the milligrams are the same. "Watson" generic brand is no better than any other of the generics, it's the same.
A piece of unsolicited advice: Since you mentioned money in your question, call different pharmacies in your location for pricing of your meds. You may be surprised at the price differences.
the components that make up Vicodin are the same from any Manufacturer. If your friend doesn't believe you have her call the local pharmacist so they can verify this question for her.
All Vicodan are exactly the same components!! The FDA would not allow for there to varieties of medications out there.
Think about it, if a doctor prescribed Vicodan and they were differant at every pharmacy then the doctor would have to prescribe a pharmacy too?? I dont' think so!!!
Just so its clear, Vicodan is also listed as hydrocodone, and Lortab and they are all the same. Just in case!
Alot of people will disagree with me but I will answer this question anyway. In theory all the generic hydrocodones are the same. I personally agree that the watson brand works better, I have been on norco for 2 years due to a herniated disc in my lumbar spine. I find that the watson brand is absorbed better in my system, and it is not because the hydrocodone is different but it is because the different companies use different fillers in their medication and that does have alot to do with how well it works. This is just my opinion though. Hope this helps.
With most medications, no it doesn't matter. Generics are the same. The ONLY exception I've seen to this rule is with my Oxycontin. There is a generic brand that is shaped like a footbal, and they put something in it to make it gel up if you try to crush and snort it. My pain doctor has told me that whatever it is they put in it to make it do that makes it less effective and never to get it, to ask for the brand. But that is literally the ONLY time I've ever not gotten generic medication... it's generally just as good. I can tell you from experience that I've had all the brands of Vicodin and they are all the same.
