tissue can go on burning for up to ten minutes after the heat source has been removed

hold the burn under gently running water or in a bowl of ice water for at least ten minutes if its a bad burn, or it covers a significant area, either get to the doctors immediately , go to the hospital or call the emergency services - but be sensible
Run under water, place dressing on it, cover with bandage
The juice directly from the aloe vera plant works best.
if it is a minor burn run under cold water for five mins or until pain is reduced, dont dry with towel let dry naturally. bandage with gauze wrap not normal bandage. skin will heal naturally but may be a lighter color than the rest of skin. may be necessary to apply ointment.
