Can someone live after getting stabbed completly through the gut?

i was watching this movie and this guy stabbed another guy in the gut and the blade went completely through the person's body and out their back, and they lived. is it true?

It can happen, if no major arteries are cut and if the wound is treated promptly it would be possible to survive.
If it did not hit any vital organs yes.
