What is the threshold of healing?

Question:
Get a small cut and it heals within days. Lose an arm and it's gone for good. Where is the dividing line that determines the threshold regarding whether an injury will or won't heal?

Answers:
Well...humans can't regenerate limbs...as long as blood can clot and no infection occurs, I'd say a human is in pretty good shape.

Blood loss from a major wound could cause death, as well as infection of a wound that may or may not spread to the rest of the body.

A human CAN heal from losing an arm, they just won't have an arm. :)
