Please look at my health care question.?

Question:

my question is why do we need a different insurance for teeth and vision? is our mouth and eyes not part of our body? i just think its stupid that we need different insurance for different parts of the body. how are people suppose to be healthy if they cannot afford health care? this is america shouldnt we all be insured like all the other industrialized nations who have universal health care?

Dentists aren't MDs, and neither are optometrists. Fifty years ago, insurance didn't cover osteopaths, and many insurance plans still don't cover chiropractors or chiropods. Many of them also have limited or no mental health coverage.

You're right; the US is the only major industrialized country that doesn't offer universal health care. We live shorter lives, and our infant mortality rates are higher.

But hey, I guess dying is the price we pay for living in "the greatest country in the world."

Yes, I think so, but people don't want to spend the money to do it. Right now, Wisconsin is talking about insuring everyone and they're going to have to raise taxes something like 14% to do it.

I guess it is because its like $400.00AU just to remove a tooth and one filling...
