Yes, I think it's called sleep paralysis. It's exactly like you describe. It has happened to my husband many times, and oddly enough, it also happens to his twin brother too. It's scary and weird, but there in nothing you can do about it. Some people are just more prone to it happening than others.
This is completely normal. When this happens it just means that you are awake before your body is ready to wake up. Don't worry. This is normal.

yes when i was five years old went to visit relatives. and i hadn't had much sleep in a few days playing hard with cousins and one time woke up and was like that not sure what that was but i was so tired. anyhow it went away and nothign afte rthat.
