Question:
I am 20 yr old male and right now I dont have health insurance so I want to wait it out before I have to see a Doctor...I have been experiencing pain in my right knee. Any time I do any type of running I feel pain afterwards...the worst is when I am playing baseball and spint down the baseline and rapidly slow myself down...i also have A LOT of trouble bending down on that knee, if i drop something i cant put pressure on my knee. i can bend it painlessly while sitting down, but when pressure is applied i feel pain. any ideas

Do you have fluid in your knees? My whole life I dealt with that issue. I did have my fluid drained from my knees it helped a little. I worked on strengthening all muscles around my knees dont forget to include calves and quads. That took me to about your age to figure this out and then I had very limited pain. Good luck.
sounds like you need physical therapy- this will strengthen those tendons/ligaments/muscles. so before you go to the dr. try stretching it and doing strengthening exercises (you can probably find some on the internet) also make sure to ice it after running/baseball/etc. and take like aleve or something. sometimes it helps to massage that area or wear a knee brace for support. but i think that in the end you will need to see the dr.
you probably have an inflated knee.. if u fell on tht knee becuz thts what happened 2 me and i went 2 pysical therapy and it helped a lot
Wear a Ace brace and take an anti-inflammatory before doing anything strenuous. You may be overstimulating and straining your knee too much. You may have to all in all take some time to rest your knee. Even if there is no swelling the damage can be internal inside. Try resting your knee for at least a few days. Ice your knee 15 minutes then alternate with heat. Take motrin or Aleve. If you take Motrin you will need to take 800mg every 8hrs. So that is 4 Motrin every 8hrs. This will really help our your knee.

My husband has a lot of knee problems and I have him do this all the time.

If you can go to a drug store and go to the department where the Bengay area is go there. Get these patches called Salon Pas. These have Capsazin and this works great to relieve pain. Use this under the ace bandage brace for your knee. DO NOT SLEEP WITH IT. With the brace that is. Only with you are up and about.

Really try to rest it from you strenuous activities.

If you do all of this and it doesn't help...I say give it 2-3 weeks if it doesn't get any better you may have to see a doctor. See a Community Hospital where they can work with your income or even a clinic.
1st thing you need to do is go to a propper running shoe store that has people who know about running. a lot of knee injuries happen because the person has the wrong running shoe for their running style.

People's foot strikes and follows through diffrently it is called your pronation. some people have a nuetral pronation some over pronate and some under pronate. it is how your foot/leg rolls as it goes through the running motion some roll out some roll in. good running shoes are desinged to correct one of these problems. they make shoes that have support to correct over pronation some have support to correct under and so on. the people at the store will be able to define your pronation and help you select the right shoe for your style. not having the right shoe for your style is one of the biggest causes of knee problems when running. they even have support you can put in any type of shoe to help with this problem.

Ice your knee after a work out. also look into knee supports to help it stabilize. you could have anything from a ACL strain or tear to a PCL strain or tear to bursted bursa sacs (water on knee) take anti inflamitories after a run. never before it is too harsh on your belly and can cause bleeding dont listen to the one who told you to take it before this can also mask pain that you need to know is there. if you continue without knowing how bad it hurts you could do more damage

here is a link to explain the pronating better and if you search this site they have ways to help bum knees. take a look around its a great site the second link you click on the body part that hurts and they advise
Try no using your knee, no running etc. until it is better. Take anti inflamotory medication such as advil. Get a knee brace, apply ice off and on, stay off of it for a wk or so. Get some krutches if you need to. Try to find a clinic that can help. You may need special exercise to strenthen it but physical therapy is expensive so good luck.
u must rest your knees and put hot fomentation take ketoprofen as analgisic
