You didnt say how long you had been injured...my fiancee had a stress fracture in his foot that took six months to properly heal. If ur doctor says its ok to start putting weight on it do so but really slow at first. Like sit on steps or the toilet and put ur feet on the floor and press just a little. If it continues to hurt and not get better find a new doctor.
I'm so sorry to hear of your injury. Listen, can you tell me what happened to you? I do know how you feel. We are kind of in the same boat. I was in a motorcycle accident last Aug and shattered my right leg...I have 2 plates and screws, nerve damage and ligament damage...6 months of therapy and another surgery coming up. I can't work or drive and it's been 1 YEAR. I am too soooooo tired and sick of this I want to SCREAM. I go out when I have to. I can't do big stores anymore or walk for a long distance. If it is hard for you to stand up and or walk.you just take your time and when your ready, you will know it. Do you have crutches? How old are you? You will get better, remember that... it will take some time for you to heal. Keep your family close to you and especially your friends. Have a poker party with friends, rent some movies, draw, read, scream when you need to...I did. You have to try to be strong and yes it is sooooo boring. If I can do it so can you..I really mean this!!! If you need to talk
you can chat with me if you need to, I'm always here. Good luck to you.
I am so sorry this has happened to you. Wish had said how you did this to yourself. Please listen and do as the doc says. If he says you can get up and walk a little, then do it slowly. Unforturnately since your feet carry the weight of you body it may be awhile before you can walk without pain. Please take care!
If your fractures have been properly dealt with, you should be OK.I would take the doctors word for it.It will be a while before the pain is gone though.
I broke my ankle on a parachute jump and I had to have it surgically repaired. All that it took was two small screws, but let me tell you about the pain.IT HURT!
My ankle swelled up,I went to physical therapy;and about 4 months after I broke it,I could put weight on it.It took 6 months before I could walk decently.
