Really bad blister?
Question:
Now I have one really bad blister I'm kinda worried about though. It seems to go deep into my skin and the skin around it is purplish. What can I do to make it better?
Answers:
I've had blisters so bad once that the back of my feet looked like they went through a cheese grater, so I know what I'm talking about in this matter.
#1: Don't break it, this will just leave raw skin that will hurt.
#2: If you can, keep out of your shoes for a while.
#3: Put some padding (preferably this stuff called moleskin) over the area when you do wear shoes (to prevent rubbing). Be sure to tape that sucker down; it's aweful feeling moleskin flapping around in your shoes (and medical tape doesn't tend to keep it down too well).
#4: Watch for infection
#5: Wait. Blisters can take a long while to heal. Be patient and it will probably fix itself without work and headaches.
I would sterilize a sewing needle and puncture it right in the middle of the darn thing. I am sure a doctor may advise against it, but thats what I would do. I get blisters every now and then.
. Joel is right. You're probably mostly healed, ha - 'heal' - by now, but if it happens again, make sure you put a pad of some kind around the blister. I always pop mine but it's NOT recommended. Then I put a large bandaid on it.
