Why is my left thigh numb?

Question:
The upper part of my thigh is numb and it has never done this before although I slept on that side pretty much all night last night..could that be the problem??

Answers:
it is due to unrelieved pressure, which means blood circulation is restricted in that area...try exercising that leg for a while and it will get bettert
If it doesn't go away, you should see a doctor. While it could be something simple, like a pinched nerve, it could also be something serious, like Multiple Sclerosis. Partial limb or body numbness is a first symptom of Multiple Sclerosis.
I always sleep on my right side and I've never had the upper part of my leg to go numb..my leg's "went to sleep" or whatever but it always went back to normal within minutes.

I would go to the doctor. Numbness could be a blockage in your leg, or a pinched nerve. Something along those lines. I'd get it checked. I don't think numbness of a limb is really something that should be ignored.
That could be the problem. My sciatica makes my thigh kind of numb, mostly when I'm laying in bed reading. It goes away when I walk around a bit.
Try walking it out to see if it goes away. Movement might make you feel better. If not, see a doctor, because it could be sign of something more serious.
when you lay on a limb, you reduce or cut the circulation to that limb and it gets numb or you might get that tingly feeling. it should go away in a few minutes. if it doesn't, go to out patients.
