What is causing the twiching on the cheek under my left eye. It has lasted for about 4 months?

Question:
It is very annoying and sometimes it hurts. I have been to a neurologist and he did not find anything wrong. Do I need to see an eye doctor instead.

Answers:
It could be from not getting enough sleep, or from reading a lot. It's probably nothing to worry about, but you should see an eye doctor if it's really bothering you.
try a dentist. IK, it sounds weird. my younger brother went through something like this when he was younger and it was a tooth that had to be removed.
I would go to see an eye doctor. Your muscle is doing that, but an eye doctor would probably be able to tell you why.
I have had the exact same thing...I too went to a neurologist and an optometrist. They didn't have a clue... I finally mentioned it to my primary care physician and she said that it is a common sign of stress and/or fatigue, possibly a lack of sleep. I'm a stay at home mom with five kids, my stress and fatigue does not go away, so every once in a while I get this twitch under my eye. Sometimes it lasts for a day, a week, or a month...pretty annoying, I know. Try to keep from getting stressed out and get enough sleep, maybe that will help. Good luck!
