Answers:
Before the FDA made it so regulated to get I used to have my doctor just call me in something for a cough, which he called in Hycodan, which had the same thing in it that the hydrocodone and oxycodone has. And since my family doctor treated both my parents, when I got done with my bottle I would call and ask the nurse to call it in for my mother, then my father and then me again and around and around it went, then it became harder to get you would hve to come in to the office to get checked to have a written script or have it called in. So I had to come off it cold turkey , I didn't know any one on the street to go to and wouldn't if I had because you don't really know what you are getting. Buck up and tell your self every day you don't need it to function which I found out after i couldn't get it any more, but YOU have to be serious about wanting to get oft it. Once you make the quality decision not to take it any more you tell your body it is not going to get it and don't let your mind tell you.. you tell your mind what it is going to get and don't be led by your emotions. Your mind has caused you to believe a lie.Once it wears off the problems and depression are still there only worse because you are worried about getting some more. If you are getting it from your friends , stop hanging around them any more and make new ones , because the old ones will find something else to sell you to take its place and the lie goes on and on and you are back to square one, and when you really need something for pain , say you were in a car accident or oral surgery it won't do any thing for you, your body had built up a resistence to the substance. You can do this, I believe in you , just make up your mind to stop. and you are not going to be your self for a few days but what is that compared to a life time of being free. And if that doesn' t work talk to your doctor or another one that doesn't know your family to help you kick the habit and maybe he can get you into some re-hab group to help you stay straight. There is help out there but only you can decide to do something about it. YOU won't regret it I promise you that . Best of luck to you.

I'm so sorry for you. I have to take hydrocodone (I've taken oxycodone also) for fibromyalgia. The pain is so bad that I have to take it everyday. I've been taking them for a few years and they help me to be able to get out of bed and take care of my daughter. There have been a few months here and there where I have been off of my meds. The only thing that happens to me is I hurt and don't have relief. I hear people talking about hydrocodone makes them high and makes them feel good. I have no idea what they're talking about. I have NEVER felt anything while taking these meds. All they do is get rid of my pain. I'm so sorry that you are having this problem. I'm addicted to cigarettes and know how difficult that is to stop. Why did you get on these meds in the first place? Did you have an injury or something? If so, maybe a pain management doctor could help wean you off them. If you call the hospital, someone will be able to tell you about the programs in your area.
