Question:
Answers:
0g will not close so dont do it. ive heard my friends 1g closed pretty much all the way.. but i definitely wouldnt do 0 if you want it to close.
if you go any bigger then 12-16mm then the chances of it healing over will be very slim.
I've read up on it, I'm going to 00 gage which is 10 mm it should heal up just fine.
0 gage should be fine, but to be safe don't go any bigger then 10mm
here's the thing.
it depends on how you stretch, how much elasticity your ear has, and how long you wait between stretches.
usually 2g is permanent in almost all cases. some people can go much bigger and it still close, some people smaller. the thing is when you do this, you have to acknowledge that they can be permanent. even a 16g or 14g could potentially be permanent. i have a friend who didn't stretch right. he'd skip a gauge, stretch too hard/far, etc, and has a lot of scar tissue in his ear. he is at a 4g, stretching to that after not being able to put double flared 6g eyelets in. big mistake, he didn't wait long enough. they aren't closed completely after 1-1/2 years.
rules?
1. always use real tapers, not pincher's, not straws.
2. wait 2-3 months after stretches. the bigger the guage, the longer the wait.
3. take a shower before you stretch, it gets your ears warmer and more elastic, making it easy to stretch.
4. use a lubricant. KY works well, but if you dont have any or you dont want the wrong image being taken if you get some, use vasoline. it works.
5. no acrylic jewelry in new/stretched piercings. tapers are okay, but only for stretching. dont leave them in.
