Don't do anything. In a few more years, your back pain will go the same route your eyesight is going to take ... they'll both go AWAY! You'll be dead! 13 hours a day? That can't be the only job you can find. Get a newspaper and find a new one ... with more normal hours!
First of all you need to make some time to exercise. Second you need to sit up strraight in a chair. You probably have lower back problems because your core muscles are weak. You need to work on your lower back and abs.
hi. are you really sure that the chronic back pain is due to prolonged sitting? I have chronic back pain and i thought it was due to my prolonged sitting in front of the computer but it turned out that i have it because i have a compression fracture in the lumbar 5 section of my spine. that hurt a lot and it kept me home for at least two days. go and see your doctor. there are many reasons why a person experiences back pains. it could be stress related, kidney problem, prostate problem, or scoliosis, to name a few.

for the relief my back pain, i take nimesulide (generic). but on extra-ordinary cases, when it is really excruciatingly poainful and I could no longer get out of bed,, i take tramadol (other names: tramundin, tramal) but please go and ask your doctor before taking any medications. Arcoxia also works best if combined with tramadol... but i guess, tramadol is not an over-the-counter drug...
Working at the computer can cause some problems with neck and back pain. Be sure that you get up at least every hours and stretch. You may also try putting a shelf next to your desk and stand up for awhile to do your typing. I too work at the computer - about 11 hours a day and find it's important to exercise.

If your pain is due to your computer work try the suggestions above. If you're not sure, I would suggest finding out if you have any disc problems.
