When the dentist is working in your mouth and you feel pain... how do you relax?
Question:
What do you think about?
Answers:
First, I recommend letting your dentist know that it hurts. He can give you more anesthetic to numb the area. Sometimes the dentist does not hit the right nerve with the injection. It is perfectly OK to let him know it hurts. If you are left sitting there with the pain, think to yourself, "This will be over soon. I'm OK." Best Wishes
i usually tell the dentist is hurts and they do something about it
I think of some of the breathing techniques I learned in childbirth classes.
They didn't really help the pain in either situation, but at least it does help by distracting me.
Honestly, its psychological. Just shift your pain to pleasure and concentrate on that focal point. But if you cant handle the pain, raise your hand so the dentist will stop.
I take a nap while they are working on me. As for what I think about at times when in there I think about my dog sometimes or my favorite flower.
I use a modified form of Transcendental Meditation e.g. think 'cure', 'cure', 'cure' . or 'surgeon', 'surgeon'. or 'good', 'good', 'good' ... or ..
When your concentration slips, gnetly come back to repeating your chosen (secret) mantra silently.
