Have 2 ruptured and protruding disks,(L4/L5) what is the best bed (already tried tempurpedic, it sucked)?
Question:
Answers:
I shattered the L5/S1 disc, L4/5 & L3/4 are herniated; this all started in 1981, I can relate to your problem!
The best bed I have found is the Sleep Number Bed; currently it is being advertised by Lindsay Wagner on TV. We have had this bed for 4 years and I would NEVER trade it for anything else. The bed comes with a 20 year warranty, which offsets the price.
Check out their web site at www.SelectComfort.com.
Congratulations on no meds!!
that number bed you can adjust to your own firmness. Sound like you need a specail bed that cost bucks. I air bed is nice I worke with them in th hospitals they are always filling with out and going out and you pretty much lay one air which is taken presure off your back.
You are right about the tempurpedic, you can't lift your hips in that bed to turn over if you have back pain!!
Anyway, I'm sure you have heard it a thousand times, but why not have the disc removed? I did it and believe me I had forgotten how good I could feel.
I don't remember the name of the bed but it is hospital like, you can raise your upper torso, or raise you knees, depending how your injury is affecting you at the time. They now have very nice mattresses for them. They are not so "hospital" like. I think if I still was having that kind of back trouble, I would like that kind of bed because the pain is always in differant places.
Good luck to ya, I hope you find the relief that you are looking for.
