Is it best to pop water blisters or leave them alone?

Question:
I was breaking in some new sneakers today and did alot of walking at work. I have some water blisters on the bottom of my toes.ouch!!

Answers:
A blister is your body's way of making a perfect dressing. The fluid underneath contains healing properties such as enzymes and cells. It is a seal against infection and also provides some minor protection against further rubbing. By keeping the area underneath moist (like under a blister) it allows for 40% faster healing than if you pop it and allow a scab to form. Wound Care experts use moist wound healing now.
The best thing you can do it to avoid more pressure until they heal. If the fluid underneath becomes too much and is looks like it might pop or it is rubbing on something you can purchase a transparent film dressing at a pharmacy. These are made by companies like Smith and Nephew or 3M for these purposes - they are called names like Tegaderm or Opsite. You can virtually leave them on (place straight over the blister with the bubble intact) until your body reabsorbs the fluid and the blister is gone.

Good luck and ouch - it hurts hey!
Leave them alone or the skin will peel and become infected.
dont pop them cause theyll hurt even more.
Keep it clean what ever you decide.
If you decide to pop them, pop them at the very edge with a pin and leave the skin intact. And put a band-aid or bandage over it...
Unless they become infected, I have seen somewhere that they are best left alone. This blister is in place to stop infections until the skin underneath is grown back.
Leave them alone. If you pop them they could get infected and be even more painful. It's ok if they pop by themselves though. Keep the area clean and sterile. Use neosporin and some padded bandages to ease the discomfort and prevent infection.
Just leave it alone. It will heal naturally. Popping will give you some wounds that are more painful.
Well when i get them, i take a clean needle an poke it gently where the fluid will come out and slowly and gently push all of the liquid out. and leave the blister. It help take the pain away. and the skin will eventually dry up and fall off or i just take skin off and a cream that will help it heal faster and cover it up with a bandage.
I am in the military, and have dealt with 100's of blisters. Do not listen to these people, that say it will get infected. It will only get infected, if you do not keep it clean.

The quickest way for it to heal, that I have found is as follows:
Using fingernail clippers, that are cleaned with alcohol. Puncture the side of the blister, enough for the liquid to seep out. Then make sure to cut a very tiny hole, or the blister will reform. Dry with a papertowel, and let air dry long enough for it to not come back.

There is no need to cover with a bandaid, if you let it air dry long enough. If you need to walk on it right away, use a bandaid. Doing this method, the blister will be dry enough, in less than 24 hours. Once it is dry, it will not cause any more pain, and the skin will fall off later on.

The only time it will get infected, is if you do NOT let it dry out, and you walk on it all day. Make sure to let it dry out, before you walk on it. So, best to do it at night, right before you go to bed. When you wake up in the morning, the pain will be gone, and you don't have to worry about infection.

Addition: Olive Reindeer must not have had many blisters. Blisters do NOT scab up at any point in time. The only time your skin scabs up, is if there is blood. In a blister, there is no puncture of the skin, and blood cannot form. Even a blood blister, does not scab up. Experience will tell you that.
ya; its better to remove the tip & evacute the water
Leave them alone and keep them very dry. If you pop them it could cause infection or scarring.
