What causes my ring finger to lock into a claw position at night?
Question:
Answers:
It could just be trigger finger. Its a common orthopedic complaint. You should have it seen by an orthopedic who specializes in hands though.
i agree it does sound somewhat like trigger finger, although other things can cause the same thing. i would try a more conservative approach first, like physical therapy. if that works then you could potentially avoid a rush into an unnecessary surgery which, at times but not all the time, can occur if you see a orthopedic doctor or surgeon.
could be carpal tunnel syndrome
Ring fingers are strange and tend to have shorter tendons than other fingers for some reason. If this happens every night, it might be that the position you lie down in is pulling on it. However, if it hurts or is happening even when you're not lying down, it could be a trigger finger and should be looked at by a doctor.
