I just got back from a long jog. Now my legs really ache, What should I do?

Question:
Should I ice them or what? They don't hurt like I need to go to the doctor... just the usual ache.

Answers:
alternate ice and heat every 15 mins.
you can soak in a warm tub or/and you can put muscle pain cream on your legs
it depends on what kind of pain:

Muscle Pain - Ice it for a good 15 mins at a time...

Joint Pain - stop running for now, and go see a doctor...or perhaps get better running shoes.
Stretch them, u should be stretching before and after u go for a jog to lossen the mucles and that way u wont get saw legs after woulds
When I was marathon training i took an ice bath after every long run. It sucks to get into at first, but I would have no leg pain. I had read somewhere that it causes your muscles to contract and get rid of the lactic acid that causes the pain. Don't know if this is true, but the remedy worked for me.
sit in a really warm bath as hot as you can stand it for about 5 or 10 minutes i get muscles aches all the time and it seems to do the trick. ice is to help with swelling and heat is to reduce pain and relax you. try the bath promise it will help :)
You need to stretch them and drink lots of water
