My mother is having cracking in both of her leg bones, not the joints. What can be causing this?

Question:
My mother is having cracking in both of her legs and it is the bones themselves, not the joints. I can find all kinds of info on cracking in the joints, but none about the leg bones themselves. She has discomfort, but there was no one incident that started these symptoms. She is a 50 year old caucasian woman who is 5 foot 3 inches tall. I would appreciate any helpful comments.

Answers:
She may have Osteoporosis, a condition in which the bones become fragile and brittle, and the cracking noise could be due to the weight being put on the leg bones ,She should get a Bone density test done as she is in the age group for this condition.
She should be on Calcium tablets to help stop her getting this condition any way .But get her checked even though it may be nothing serious
dengue fever (?)
google it up -- it is also called "breakbone fever"
