My neice is now 11 and she was having alot of headaches. The doctor did all kinds of tests on her and now she has to take medicine for a thyroid problem that had her messed up. Her blood sugar was staying too low because of an inactive thyroid. Because her blood sugar was low, caused her headaches.
you can get patches which cool their heads down... called coolies or something. from most chemists and boots.alot of kids get headaches through heat... and these are great at stopping their headaches. you can also get things like childrens medicine which helps.. calpol, amoxyxilin etc.. how old is your son? if he gets them alot at a young age maybe you should get him to a doctor just to see everything is ok? xxx
When we were little, my older brother would get a lot of headaches. The doctors found it was caused from preservatives in some of the foods he eats like hotdogs, or in the red dye that is in a lot of foods. The doc said his sugar intake needed to be almost zero and to watch the processed meats he eats as well. Also, as everyone says, drink more water!
well first of all it is odd that a child should have a headache every day
So first you need to think of what is causing these headaches
1. may be that he is dehydrated, especially if he has been outside a lot in this heat. For this try 2oz of water every 2 hours or so. Keep him hydrated.
2. it my be seasonal allergies or sinus infections.
3. it may be an allergic reaction to something he is eating or drinking. I have found that ANYTHING with artificial sweeteners in it causes some people to have headaches.
If these things do not help his headaches to go away then you need to see your family Dr. because it may be more serious.
For a quick fix and temporary relief from the headache pain, there is a product called Head-On. it looks like a large chap-stick and you roll it over your forehead and temples.. It works faster than Advil, Tylenol or any other pills, because it goes straight to the source and it is not a drug so it is not harmful to his young system.
Hope this helps.
There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation;
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment; but he may not like it now. Can you convience him?
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.
Avoid late sleeping if possible;spicy, sour, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help you.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong.
If it is acute pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

catscan please. as soon as possible. not normal.
It's not common for kids to have headaches so take him to the doctor!! It could be from the heat, my daughter gets them and I have her drink water and sit in front of a fan or air conditioner to cool down.
Could also be eye strain. Is he on a computer or gameboy a lot? Watch tv or read a lot? If you can rule out eye strain, have him go for a CT Scan.
Maybe phcosamatic? Is he having trouble in school? Peer pressure? Or is there a medical cause? I suggest you contact a M.D. and have it checked out, also talk to your son, in general and see if he gives you any clues, as to these headaches. Does he need eye glasses? Many logical causes for his current problem.
you cannot treat the symptom without knowing the cause. give him nothing. he's a child. never ever give him an aspirin.you could damage him for life. take him to his pediatrician asap. if he is having these headaches as often as you've described, you have already waited to long.causing him to suffer unnecessarily. advice is good, but facts speak for it self.
id test for seasonal allergies a simple pill like zyrtec will get rid of the headaches right way, sometimes frozen tea bags on the eyes help
children ae under alotof stress these few days. just give him a break from his hectic life and he will improve gradually
maybe u should take them to get there eyes check they could need glasses if that's not it than take them to see a doctor but since they are both getting them they probably need glasses
In 3rd grade everything changes in their work at school. All the print is smaller and the way they do their work changes. I taught 3 & 4th for 8 years and every single year I had several students who started having headaches every day. All those children ended up needing glasses when their vision was checked. Think back to when the headaches started and maybe there is a connection!
