how to i keep my breathing stable, i've tried breathing through nose, but i end up choking from lack of oxygen? Any ideas?

I believe the "powerlung" products are quite useful in training the lungs to be stronger and have been beneficial to asthmatics in helping control their condition. You could also try swimming - doing breast stroke properly with your face in the water will help develop your breathing rhythm. If you were really keen and so inclined, you could take up a wind instrument like saxophone or trumpet - again good discipline for breathing. Below is a running website with good advice for breathing while running. A running club might be helpful too - regular runners will be able to watch your technique and let you know where the problem lies - you'll probably find its your rhythm thats wrong.

All the best - when it does eventually come together - and it will - you'll wonder what you ever had a problem with!!
relax and do deep breath exercises at home, and become fitter with some fittness exercises.
You'll find it a lot easier if you take that cigarette out of your mouth
A singers breathing exercise might help, It kind of helps open up your ribcage. (Assuming you are not simply jogging in a heavily polluted area!)

As you slowly breath in, raise your arms out to the side as slowly and gradually as your breath. Let your hands touch each-other above your head!

If that isn't enough, keep your hands up, you can link the fingers of both hands if you like, breath out, then slowly in again. You fill your lungs much better this way. Try it! You can test it at home before you go for a run.

I hope this tip helps, I do it whenever I feel the need for More oxygen! Good luck x
Hi,
I have just the thing!
A friend of mine is a successfull podiatrist and he sells, or is about to start selling a lung exerciser which is a superb bit of kit, and its not expensive at all.
I have one as I'm asthmatic, and i swear by it - it helped me to trek to Mt Everest for charity!
Check out his website www.drfoot.co.uk and if he's not selling them yet, just email him and ask about it.
relax and take your time
