How to obtain health records?

Question:
My patience is growing thin with my doctor. I requested my records three weeks ago and still nothing. Is there any other method that I can use to obtain my immunization records. Trying to go back to school.

Answers:
Call the office and ask to talk to the office manager, I bet if you ask for your complete records they will be nice and scared that you will be changing doctors so they will do anything you need.
You should be able to call ahead and go to his office in person for that. Immunization records don't take long. If he is uncooperative send a certified letter. That should get his attention.
You might want to schedule an office visit, and tell the receptionist when you check in that you'd like a copy of your records when you leave.

Because of newer and more stringent patient privacy laws (HIPAA), doctors and their office staff are really limited about what they can release over the phone and via fax. It might be easier to just go in and get them yourself.
